Baseball is not one of the biggest sports in Sweden. In the USA, however, it is so gigantic that an old match jersey has now been sold at an auction for 245.6 million kronor.

But it's not just any match jersey.

The jersey was the legendary Babe Ruth's, and was worn during the mythical match when his New York Yankees met Chicago Cubs in the World Series (final series) in 1932.

Ruth had been taunted by the opponents throughout the entire match, whereupon he responded by pointing exactly where he would hit his "home run", far out into the audience. Then he followed up by hitting exactly where he pointed.

The event has since been given the name "called shot" and is one of the most iconic moments in sports.

The previous record price for a souvenir from a sports context was a collector's card of Mickey Mantle, who is also a legend within baseball, and was over 128 million kronor.
