The child was delivered by a planned cesarean section in the autumn of 2022. After a few minutes, the child's condition deteriorated. Despite medical efforts, the newborn's life could not be saved.
Ivo criticizes the hospital and a midwife. According to Ivo, it took too long before the child received sufficient respiratory support. No emergency alarm was triggered, and help was called in via telephone instead.
The hospital's chief physician, Annica Ahl, writes in a comment to SVT News Södertälje that "the hospital took the matter extremely seriously and immediately took several measures based on the analysis to prevent this from happening again".
