A passerby saw the snake by a road and alerted the police, writes Hallands Nyheter. The police later received a call from a person who had found the snake and taken it home.
We have taken help from an animal shelter that went and picked up the snake, says Magnus Schildt, duty officer at the police region Väst.
The royal python – a female that, according to the police, is 140 centimeters long and weighs 2.3 kilos – is considered found property and the police are looking for the owner.
Earlier in the week, local media reported on another royal python that was found in Varberg and was caught by a private person. Also in May, a python was found, that time dead, near the city's hospital.
