The presumed democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has gathered around 200 million dollars, equivalent to almost 2.2 billion Swedish kronor, for her campaign, reports Bloomberg.
Michael Tyler, communications manager for Harris' election campaign, calls the sum "record-like" and says that 66 percent of the money comes from first-time donors.
During just the first day of Kamala Harris' campaign, she gathered 81 million dollars, almost 876 million Swedish kronor, and the money has thus continued to flow in.
Although Harris has not yet been officially proclaimed as the Democratic presidential candidate, she has gathered support from enough delegates to win the nomination. Moreover, many heavyweights, such as former US President Barack Obama, have backed Harris' candidacy.
Officially, Harris will be appointed as a candidate later in August, at the Democratic Convention.
