Now the first national guards have arrived in Washington DC since the US president Donald Trump declared a "state of emergency" for the capital.
On Monday, Trump ordered that the police would be placed under federal control and that the national guard would be called in. The day after, the first of the approximately 800 national guards who are being deployed began to arrive in Washington.
According to Trump, crime has worsened in the city, but the statistics show that violent crimes have decreased in recent years.
