When the police conducted a search, they found 30 kilos of explosives at two men's premises. Now, both men are sentenced to long prison terms by Värmland District Court.
They are convicted, among other things, of gross crimes against the law on flammable and explosive goods. One of the men, in his 30s, is sentenced to seven years and six months in prison, while the other man, in his 40s, is sentenced to five years.
The police believe that the explosives may have been intended for remotely detonated bombs that could be used by other criminals.
We have found film material showing one of the defendants handling a remote detonator. There was a risk that the explosives would end up on the market, and it would have been devastating, says prosecutor Cecilia Aronsson to P4 Värmland.
One of the men denies all criminal charges, while the other has admitted guilt in police questioning for crimes against the law on flammable and explosive goods.
