Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says that Israel is working to find a government to replace Hamas in the Gaza Strip, reports Israeli media.
"We're moving forward with an alternative government to Hamas, based on the framework where we isolate areas, remove Hamas members, and bring in other forces that can enable a different government," Gallant said, according to Times of Israel.
The defense minister has previously criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for Israel's lack of plans for governing the Gaza Strip without Hamas.
Israel's declared goals for the war are, in addition to rescuing all the hostages taken in the October 7 terrorist attack, to cripple the terrorist organization's ability to govern and wage war.
