Parts of the central station were cordoned off on the afternoon of July 10 after the police checked two individuals who were found to be carrying a so-called thermos bomb, a homemade explosive device.
The defendants are three men and one woman, all between 35 and 40 years old. The group is being prosecuted for serious offenses against the law on explosive materials and for preparation for serious general endangerment.
One of the men is suspected of having assembled the bomb components and then handed them over to the second defendant, who in turn handed them over to the man and woman who were later arrested at the central station with the bomb.
According to the indictment, it was an explosive capsule with wiring and a thermos containing three kilograms of explosive material. The woman and man are also alleged to have purchased a battery intended for use as a power source for igniting the bomb.
When the man and woman were arrested with the bomb at Stockholm Central Station, they were, according to the indictment, on their way to "another location", but it is not clear which one.
