A ten-year-old boy drowned in one of Skara's summerland pools last summer. In the now-closed investigation, it emerged that the rescue effort was hindered by bathers who stood and filmed the accident, and were in the way of the ambulance.
It's more unusual that we don't see someone filming at an accident, says Erik Marklund, unit manager of Skaraborg's ambulance, to SVT News West.
According to witness statements that SVT News West has taken part of, it appears that people did not move out of the way, despite the ambulance driving with blue lights and sirens. It also appears that people gathered as close as possible around the pool where the boy was found, in order to film with their mobile phones.
