An object has been thrown into a gate of an apartment building in Upplands Väsby north of Stockholm and exploded.
No one was injured, but material damage to the gate occurred during the explosion.
It has also shattered window panes at a couple of nearby residences and car windows on a parked car in the vicinity, says Robert Sennerdal at the police.
The police have initiated an investigation into attempted murder, general vandalism, and offenses against the law on fire hazardous objects.
A suspect was arrested outdoors near the residence shortly after the incident.
There are strong reasons for the person being arrested, says Sennerdal.
