Donald Trump continues with appointments ahead of his inauguration at the White House in January.
Latest in line is Mehmet Oz, who is to lead the health care programs Medicare and Medicaid. This is stated by Trump on social media.
Oz, a trained doctor, is best known as the TV personality Dr Oz, who got his breakthrough in Oprah Winfrey's TV program. He then gave several advice described as "quackery" by ABC.
Two years ago, he entered politics. But as a Republican candidate, he lost the battle for one of Pennsylvania's two seats in the Senate.
Trump says in a statement that Oz will work closely with vaccine skeptic Robert F Kennedy Jr, who has been nominated to become the country's next health minister.
The two are to, according to Trump, get our "broken health care system that harms ordinary Americans and crushes our national budget" in order.
On Tuesday, Trump also nominated Howard Lutnick as trade minister.
Lutnick, CEO of the investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald, is seen as a hardline hawk towards China and its economic policy. He will thus be responsible for the tariffs against, among others, China that Trump has spoken about during the election campaign.
