Ten people have been killed and 33 are missing after sudden floods in northwestern China, reports Chinese state media.
The floods are said to have occurred in Yuzhong in Gansu Province.
Heavy rain that started on Thursday caused the floods and according to local authorities, 195 millimeters of rain had fallen by early Friday.
In addition to the floods, the rain is said to have caused at least one landslide in a mountainous area near the city of Lanzhou, according to local media. Villages in the mountainous area are said to have been left without both power and telecommunications due to the severe weather that has left over 4,000 people stranded in the mountain villages.
