The autumn election to the parliament is approaching in Norway.

As part of the election campaign, Sylvi Listhaug, party leader for the Progress Party, traveled on Friday to the Swedish-Norwegian border to launch an action package aimed at "taking back safety in Norway".

Eight years ago, I traveled to Rinkeby to see the challenges that Sweden was facing. Then I was ridiculed, says Sylvi Listhaug at a press conference.

Now we see that the problems that Sweden has also begun to affect Norway heavily. We are on our way to developing the Swedish condition.

According to the Norwegian police, Swedish criminal gangs have established themselves in all of Norway's police districts. The Progress Party's new proposal includes, among other things, increased maximum penalties for serious crimes to 50 years and investments in the police.

At the same time, the party opens up for arming Norwegian customs officers.

That the Norwegian customs are not allowed to carry service weapons has previously caused problems for customs in both Sweden and Norway. This is because Swedish customs officers are not allowed to follow criminals into Norway due to the service weapons, reports P4 Väst.
