The leading indexes on the New York Stock Exchange fell on Wednesday ahead of the semiconductor giant Nvidia's interim report.
The broad S&P 500 index fell 0.6 percent, the Dow Jones industrial index dropped 0.4 percent, and the Nasdaq's technology-heavy composite index lost 1.1 percent.
Nvidia will present its figures after the market closes. The share fell 2.1 percent.
Super Micro Computer, which sells servers and data storage systems used in AI contexts, plummeted 19.1 percent after the company postponed its report.
PVH, which owns the clothing brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, received a failing grade for its interim report. The share fell 6.4 percent.
Business icon Warren Buffett's investment company Berkshire Hathaway became the first company outside the tech sector with a market value of 1,000 billion dollars. The share rose 0.9 percent.
