Asia's leading stock exchanges mostly began Thursday's trading on a minus note following the quarterly report of semiconductor giant Nvidia. This despite the report exceeding analysts' expectations - they had wanted to see a little more.
In Tokyo, the key Nikkei 225 index had fallen by 0.4 percent at lunchtime, while the broader Topix index lost 0.3.
In Hong Kong, it was also minus as the Hang Seng index fell by 0.7 percent. The decline was equally large for the Kospi index in South Korea.
The composite index in Shanghai lost 0.35 percent, while the composite index in Shenzhen went against the trend and increased by 0.8.
