A doctor in Hälsingland loses their medical license after writing prescriptions for large quantities of medication for themselves and their relatives, reports Hudiksvalls Tidning.
This involves a large quantity of narcotics-classified medication – so large that the Health and Medical Care Committee believes the quantity poses a risk of death or injury.
According to Ivo, the Inspectorate for Health and Social Care, this involves around 17,000 tablets over a period of 14 months.
The doctor claims that the statistics are incorrect and alleges that Ivo has manipulated the figures to discredit the doctor. The Health and Medical Care Committee, on the other hand, finds that there is no reason to suspect technical errors.
