The dead fish were discovered on Monday. A few kilometers of the stream are affected.

Yesterday, there was a total fish death. Since even adult fish have died, it has been a very large impact, says Hans Schibli Lundahl, water environment supervisor at the county administrative board, to the newspaper.

Schibli Lundahl says that Bölarpsån is one of the streams in Halland that has a genuine salmon stock all the way since the last ice age. According to Hallandsposten, it is considered a productive stream for trout and salmon.

The county administrative board believes that manure or other organic material may have caused oxygen deficiency. A dead frog found by the stream indicates that the discharge was severe, since frogs are not as sensitive as fish.

The municipality is now taking over the case, which can be reported to the police.
