In the case, three of the woman's children, two adult men and one woman, are also prosecuted. One of the men was married to the 27-year-old and is suspected of being the one who strangled the woman to death in her apartment in September last year.

The prosecutor has argued that the woman was murdered when she wanted to divorce her husband, whom she had been separated from for several years, and according to the indictment, there is an honor-related motive.

The mother, who immigrated to Sweden over ten years ago, is accused of being the one who "gave instructions" for the murder to be carried out.

When it comes to honor, I am a person who values it extra highly, she was heard saying in Arabic in a phone call about her daughter-in-law that was played on the first day of the trial.

In total, seven people are prosecuted. The trial is scheduled to end on Friday.
