In the updated action plan, work continues within eight different focus areas, including violence and discrimination, health and care, family life and working life.
New is that the government assigns the Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) to map hostility towards LGBTQI individuals in digital environments. FOI will also disseminate the knowledge that is produced.
Minister for Gender Equality and Labour Market Paulina Brandberg (L) states in a press release that progress has been made to enable LGBTQI individuals to live a life where their rights and identity are respected, but that there are challenges such as discrimination, threats, hate and violence.
"We will never accept that. Through the new action plan, we are taking the next step in the work to enable everyone to be who they are and love whoever they want", says Brandberg.
