Dick Axelsson makes a comeback in Djurgården. The HockeyAllsvenskan club confirms this on its website.
"I'm extremely psyched about this journey," says Axelsson.
Dick Axelsson is back. The hockey profile announced in the autumn that he was putting his skates on the shelf, after making a short guest appearance in Väsby in Hockeyettan.
This is the second time the 37-year-old has ended his career – but just like in 2021, when he ended his career for the first time, he is now making a comeback in Djurgården.
This will be Axelsson's third stint in the Stockholm club, and the goal is clear.
"Now all focus is on helping the association back up to SHL again. I'm extremely psyched about this journey," says Axelsson on the club's website.
"I'm really happy both for 'Dickens' sake and for Djurgården's sake that we're getting in a very skilled player and a highly motivated individual," says Djurgården's sports manager, Niklas Wikegård.
The contract with Djurgården extends over the coming season.
