Algeria's Imane Khelif has secured an Olympic Games medal in the women's 66-kilo class in boxing in Paris.
The 25-year-old won her quarterfinal against Anna Hamori, Hungary, on points with 5–0 after just 46 seconds. In the semifinal on Tuesday, Janjaem Suwannapheng, Thailand, awaits. In boxing, bronze medals are awarded to both losing semifinalists.
Imane Khelif, along with Lin Yu-Ting, Taiwan, are two of the most debated athletes at the Paris Olympic Games since they were banned from competing after failing gender tests at the World Championship last year.
The final in the women's 66-kilo class will be decided on Friday.
