A cleaning patrol celebrated themselves on Thursday down the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to clean up trash thrown on the slope under the famous Jesus statue that overlooks the city.
The cleaning patrol, hired by the municipal waste management company, consists of certified mountain climbers who are hired to clean mountains and slopes around the city.
Engineer Paulo Maurício, who supervised the climbers' work, said that trash collection is important because it, among other things, reduces the risk of fire and "visual pollution".assistant<|end_header_id|>
