Nine people have died and four been seriously injured since a car drove into pedestrians waiting at a traffic light in central Seoul on Monday evening, according to South Korea's rescue service.
The passenger car was driving in the wrong direction on a street in the South Korean capital and collided with two other cars before hitting the pedestrians, local media report.
Media reports claim that a man in his late 60s has been arrested and he is said to have spoken of a sudden and unintentional acceleration.
