Joe Biden missed the group photo at his last G20 meeting.
When the outgoing US President arrived at the photo shoot at the summit in Rio de Janeiro, the present heads of state had already posed for the traditional picture.
Frustrated American officials blamed the miss on "logistical problems" and denied that Biden deliberately delayed his arrival to avoid sharing a photo with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Instead, they say that Biden's meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ran over time.
The two posed together with Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who was also not in the group photo.
