Ranil Wickremesinghe, Sri Lanka's president between 2022 and 2024, has been arrested accused of corruption.
According to Sri Lankan media, there are uncertainties surrounding a private trip to London where Wickremesinghe is said to have used state funds to the amount of 600,000 kronor.
Wickremesinghe has also been prime minister in the South Asian island nation six times, and has had a dominant role in the country's politics for decades.
