Israel's ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nevo Kulman, says to SVT that the invasion of Gaza city has not been initiated yet.

It will take several weeks or even months to prepare for it, he says in SVT's "30 minutes".

On Wednesday, Effie Defrin, spokesperson for Israel's military, said that the country had now begun the first phase of the invasion.

But that picture is not shared by Ziv Nevo Kulman.

The invasion has been communicated. The idea is to take over Gaza City to get to Hamas. This can take several weeks, as we must prepare the situation for civilians.

Ziv Nevo Kulman further says that he does not know when the invasion may begin.

What we do is create a condition for the population to leave. We do not start the invasion tomorrow. We do not start the invasion in a week. We put pressure on Hamas.
