The shooter Anna Benson took silver at the Paralympics in Tokyo three years ago in 50 meter rifle, prone.
But right now, it's 50 meter rifle, three positions, that is her best event. She set a world record and took World Championship gold in the event last year.
The top favorite lived up to expectations in the qualifying round at the Paralympics, which she won with 1,175 points. In this event, shooters shoot series in kneeling, prone, and standing positions.
The score is just two points from Benson's Paralympic qualifying record from Tokyo 2021. After winning the qualifying round, she had to settle for a fifth place in the final.
The final at this year's Paralympics will be decided this afternoon, starting at 4:00 PM.
Earlier during the games in France, Benson finished fifth in the final of air rifle, 10 meters standing. The 50 meter rifle, prone, will be decided on Thursday.
Corrected: In an earlier version, Benson's best event was incorrectly stated. The correct event is 50 meter rifle, three positions.
