Attack star Alexander Isak is rumored to want to leave Newcastle. The 25-year-old has stayed in England when the team went on a preseason tour in Asia. According to Newcastle, Isak is injured, but British media reports that Isak wants to leave the team and sign with reigning champions Liverpool.
Newcastle's coach Eddie Howe has repeatedly been asked about Isak's future. At a press conference in South Korean Seoul, Howe says:
He is still our player, he has a contract with us. So we, to a certain extent, control what happens next for him, he says and continues:
I would love to believe that all possibilities are still open. We have not received any formal bids from any club for him. My wish has always been that he stays and that we get to see him play next year, but it's not entirely up to me.
