The serve error continues to haunt the American tennis star Coco Gauff. In the WTA tournament in Montreal, the 21-year-old made 23 double faults, but still managed to win against compatriot Danielle Collins 7–5, 4–6, 7–6. The victory was Gauff's first since the triumph in the final of the French Championships in June. After that, it was a loss in the first round in Wimbledon.
It was a frustrating match for me, says Gauff after the Montreal win.
It feels like I've trained well but that I didn't get it out today. Hopefully, I've now gotten my bad match out of the way during this tournament and can be better in the next round.
