Ten Iranian police officers have been killed in the southeastern parts of the country, according to local media. The incident is described as a terrorist attack and is said to have taken place in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
According to the authorities, there are no suspects and no one has taken responsibility for the attack.
The region borders Pakistan and Afghanistan and has long been plagued by unrest. A few weeks ago, several people, including police officers, were killed in a number of separate attacks.
The extremist group Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) took responsibility for one of the attacks. Jaish al-Adl has previously been behind several attacks in Iran and is considered a terrorist organization in Iran.
