Statue "Solglitter" by Carl Milles has been stolen from its location in front of the bathhouse in Trelleborg, writes Trelleborgs Allehanda. It is the second copy of the same statue that has been stolen – in April, "Solglitter" was also stolen in Gävle.
In Trelleborg, someone has disassembled the statue and removed it, reports urban environment manager Kristoffer Tonning.
The statue from 1918 depicts a naiad – a water nymph – riding a dolphin. Another example exists at Millesgården in Stockholm. In Trelleborg, "Solglitter" was erected in a small pond outside the city's bathhouse in 1951.
