The Danish film producer Per Holst has passed away, 86 years old. This is confirmed by his son Anders Holst to Danish TV 2.
Per Holst began his career at Nordisk Film and later founded his own company, Per Holst Film. The breakthrough came in 1971 with the animated film "Bennys badekar". He became internationally known as a producer for Bille August's Oscar-winning "Pelle erövraren".
He also produced a number of Swedish films and Nordic co-productions, such as Bo Widerberg's "Lust och fägring stor", as well as the Oscar-nominated "Ondskan" from 2003, based on Jan Guillou's novel.
