Andreas Almgren is in top form. Recently, the long-distance runner set a new Swedish record in the 5,000 meters at the Stockholm stadium, before Almgren two weeks later could improve the record to 12.50,94 in the Diamond League in Oslo.
Expectations were thus high for the 28-year-old when he competed in the 3,000 meters at the Diamond League on the Stockholm stadium.
And Almgren delivered even on Sunday afternoon when he ran 7.34,28 and broke his own previous record of 7.37,05.
Almgren finished fourth in the race. The Norwegian Narve Gilje Nordås won in 7.33,49.
