Every year, the World's Best Restaurant Academy selects the world's best restaurants. This year, Disfrutar in Barcelona, Spain, was crowned the winner at the award ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday evening local time.
Only one Swedish restaurant is listed on the top 50 list. It is Frantzén in Stockholm, which is currently ranked 35th. Last year, the restaurant was ranked 30th.
One Scandinavian restaurant is listed in the top 10. Alchemist in Copenhagen, Denmark, is ranked eighth. Last year, it was ranked fifth.
The academy consists of over 1,000 members, of which a third are chefs and restaurateurs. The others are mainly food critics and gastronomic travelers.
