The American telecom giant Verizon Communications, with Swede Hans Vestberg as CEO, reports an adjusted operating profit of 12.5 billion dollars for the third quarter of the year.
This is an increase of 2.5 percent compared to the same period last year and slightly better than expected. Analysts had on average expected 12.4 billion.
Per share, the profit fell to 1.19 dollars, from 1.22 dollars the previous year. The average forecast was 1.18 dollars per share.
Operating revenues were unchanged at 33.3 billion dollars, marginally lower than the expected 33.4 billion.
Verizon confirms its forecasts for the full year.
