Interest in competing in Melodifestivalen persists. 2,794 entries had been uploaded to SVT when the application period ended at 11:59 pm on Friday. Now, a secret selection jury will select 15 entries and SVT will choose an equal number for next year's competition.
The artists participating in the competition will be revealed during the autumn. SVT has yet to disclose the date, host cities, or presenters for Melodifestivalen 2025.
Over the past ten years, interest in Melodifestivalen has remained at roughly the same level, with between 2,000 and 3,000 entries submitted to the competition each year.
New for next year is that the entries will be released in their entirety the day before the semi-final they participate in.
