I've been humble all season, but now it's over. We've proven in match after match that we're the best and now we have such a big lead that we should take it, says team captain Caroline Seger.
But it wasn't just about football in Piteå.
Never before has a potentially decisive gold match in Damallsvenskan been decided under such unpleasant circumstances as this chilly evening.
Since spring, one of Rosengård's players has been subjected to serious threats, despite this, the Malmö team has managed to rack up wins.
"It's terrible"
Of course, it hasn't been optimal. And it's terrible for the whole Allsvenskan what's happening. But we've handled it in a good way and it's made us come together as a group, says Seger.
In Piteå, the pitch was surrounded by a double-sized security force compared to usual. But all the guards and police could conclude that nothing happened. The football eventually got all the attention.
Piteå is a tough team to meet, especially on their home ground. Three matches in a row, Rosengård has gone home empty-handed, now the streak was broken.
In the 29th minute, Rosengård got paid for their large ball possession and secure passing game.
Then Olivia Schough just managed to get a ball on the goal line, hit it towards the penalty spot where Momoko Tanikawa received and banged it in 1-0 into the net with her left foot.
In the second half, Piteå took over the match completely, but the hunt for an equalizer was fruitless.
Piteå is incredibly tough to meet, it's absolutely the toughest away match and we had to grind ourselves through the second half, says Caroline Seger.
"Good chance"
Despite Malmö leading the series with 14 points ahead of Häcken with only five rounds left, she doesn't want to take out the club's 14th gold:
No, but we have a good chance to decide at home on Friday.
The chaotic situation with the threats directed at the team's players has apparently not affected Rosengård's sporting performance negatively, according to sports manager Therese Sjögran.
Not much, it has rather welded us together. We've focused on the sports and we've done it in a good way.
The team's 21st win in a row means that they are equaling Umeå's winning record from 2005.
If Rosengård wins on Friday, they won't just break that record.
Then it will be gold.
