Pro-Russian candidate may reach second round in Romania

The pro-European social democrat Marcel Ciolacu, who is now the Prime Minister of Romania, appears to need to face the pro-Russian far-right candidate Calin Georgescu in a second round of the presidential election in Romania. With 85 percent of the ballots counted, Georgescu appears to be leading with almost 22 percent of the votes, ahead of Ciolacu, who has a few decimal points less according to the preliminary result.
