Vote counters around Romania sat down on Friday and began recounting all votes in last weekend's disputed presidential election.
The country's constitutional court was supposed to make a decision on whether the first round of the election should be completely annulled, but the court postponed its decision until Monday.
When the election result was presented, it was a surprise. The NATO-critical Russian friend Calin Georgescu received the most votes, followed by the liberal Elena Lasconi, mayor of the small town of Campulung. Thus, none of the pre-favourites made it to the second round.
Later, discoveries have been made that indicate "cyber attacks" aimed at influencing the presidential election, according to Romania's presidential office.
