Romania has on Wednesday ordered two Russian diplomats to leave the country.
It concerns Russia's military attaché and deputy military attaché in Romania, who have been declared persona non grata, according to a statement from the Romanian Foreign Ministry.
The message comes after Romania accused Moscow of "influence" and after Russia criticized the prosecution of far-right politician Calin Georgescu.
Georgescu won the first round in Romania's annulled presidential election. He is suspected, among other things, of having incited actions that threaten the constitutional order in the country.
The election result in November was annulled due to suspicions of a Russian influence campaign having helped Georgescu to an unexpected victory.
