In western Ukraine, a person is said to have thrown a grenade at a military recruitment office.
Kiev has launched a large recruitment campaign to fill up with new soldiers who will protect the country against Russia's invasion. This has reportedly led to Ukrainian men fleeing to neighboring countries to avoid conscription.
Four military personnel were arrested when they tried to cross the border to Moldova on foot in the Odessa region in southern Ukraine. One of the deserters allegedly tried to escape and attacked a border guard, who shot him dead with his service weapon in self-defense, according to Ukrainian authorities.
A dozen men have drowned this year when they tried to cross the Tysa River, which flows along Ukraine's western border, according to the country's border police.
On Monday, a person suspected of throwing a grenade at a military recruitment office in the city of Busk in western Ukraine was pursued, according to the country's authorities. No one was injured in connection with the attack.
