Sweden has received a request to care for two children from the attacked children's hospital Ochmatdyt in Ukraine's capital Kiev, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
They have reviewed the request at Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital and said that they can receive two of the children, says Schani Kjaerbeck, development manager at the Acute Development Center at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, to TT.
The request came to the hospital on Thursday via the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). According to Schani Kjaerbeck, the request has also been sent to other regions in Sweden and hospitals in Europe.
We do not know if they will come to us for care. It is very possible that they will come somewhere else, he says.
It was on Monday that what is believed to have been a Russian robot struck Ukraine's largest children's hospital in central Kiev.
At the earliest on Tuesday next week, ERCC, which is the EU's coordination of aid to disaster-stricken countries, is expected to make a decision on where the children will be cared for, reports GP.
