The victim, a man in his 30s, was killed with multiple shots while sitting in his car. A one-year-old child was sitting in the back seat, but miraculously escaped physical harm.
The prosecutor, Elena Severin, has previously stated that it was merely coincidental that the child was not hit by the shots. Three of the bullets passed close to the child, and one of them hit the lock, which prevented it from penetrating the car door next to the child.
Last fall, two men were charged with, among other things, murder and attempted murder, respectively, as well as accessory to murder. However, both men were released when the trial concluded and were acquitted of involvement in the actual shooting.
One of the men was, however, convicted of handling two pistols, which were visible in several videos on his mobile phone.
According to the Malmö District Court, there is indeed very incriminating evidence against the murder suspect.
"However, it cannot be ruled out that two other individuals may have fired the shots," says Judge Sandra Ahrén in a press release.
