No one appears to have been seriously injured, according to the police, as reported by the news agency NTB, about half an hour after the crash.

Photos show how the tram's first car has crashed into a glass wall in the store, which is located on one of Oslo's main streets near the train station. Broken glass lies on the street. Around 20 people were reportedly on board the tram when it derailed for unknown reasons.

The tram has driven several meters through the facade after what appears to be a sudden right turn. According to VG, there are extensive damages inside the store.

It's complete chaos here, says witness Kjell Bjørn Vinje to the newspaper.

It's surreal. The tram is standing across the entire Storgata with its front deep inside Eplehuset.

The building that houses the affected store Eplehuset has been evacuated and the area has been cordoned off, according to the police.
