The hypersonic (five times or more over the speed of sound) robot was used for the first time in an attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last year.
Then the Kremlin pointed in deterrent terms, among other things, to the fact that the robot has nuclear capacity and has spoken of it as a kind of Russian superweapon.
In connection with a meeting with Belarus leader Aleksandr Lukasjenko, the Kremlin's ally, in Russia on Friday, Putin said that the robot has been put into series production.
The plan is also to deploy Oresjnik in Belarus before the end of the year, and Russian and Belarusian military and specialists have now chosen exact geographical locations for this, according to Putin.
Work is now underway to prepare these locations. Most likely, we will be done with that issue by the end of the year, says Putin.
