Expectations within the specialty retail trade are increasing – but remain unchanged for daily goods retail, according to the Swedish Trade Barometer for February.
Generally, there is a continued pessimistic view of the coming three months within the industry. Uncertainty about the interest rate situation, households' continued weak purchasing power, and security policy risks in the surrounding world are the main reasons.
"Fewer than half of the retailers believe in an improvement in the coming months, which is a clear sign that we still have tough months ahead of us", says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Swedish Trade in a press release.
