Aker BP has made a large oil discovery in the North Sea.
According to a press release from the company, the discovery in the Yggdrasil oil field is described as one of the largest in a decade.
The drilling in the Yggdrasil area is the largest ongoing project on the Norwegian continental shelf. The first oil from there is estimated to be able to be pumped up in 2027.
Among the larger owners of Aker BP is the Swedish Lundin family.
