The President of the USA, Donald Trump, demands that Federal Reserve member Lisa Cook resign, reports Bloomberg.
"Cook must resign, now!!!", Trump writes on Truth Social.
The request comes after Bill Pulte, head of Federal Housing Finance Agency, urged Justice Minister Pam Bondi to initiate an investigation against Cook.
In a letter that Pulte sent to Bondi, it is implied that Cook has "falsified bank documents and property records to get better loan terms".
The Trump administration has previously brought forward similar allegations against the Democratic senator Adam Schiff and the Justice Minister of New York, Letitia James.
Lisa Cook was nominated by former President Joe Biden in 2022 and her mandate extends until 2038.
