The director Tobias Theorell becomes the new artistic opera manager at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. He takes over after Michael Cavanagh, who passed away earlier this year.
Theorell is currently the artistic director of the Folk Opera in Stockholm, but has previously made several productions also at the Royal Opera, including "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Elin Rombo and Robert Fux in the spring of 2023.
He will take office no later than February 28 next year and describes his new job in a press release as a task he takes on "with great humility and pleasure."
"I very much look forward to collaborating with everyone in the house and together with them presenting high-quality opera to the audience," says Tobias Theorell.
