This is announced in the program "Godmorgon Österrike" on Wednesday morning.

Vienna, which also hosted the glittering TV show in 1967 and 2015, emerged victorious from the competition against the competitor Innsbruck, the capital of the state of Tyrol. Thus, Austria's capital will host next year's competition.

"EBU is very happy that Vienna has been chosen as the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026", says Martin Green, head of the Eurovision Song Contest, according to ESC's website.

"Vienna's reputation as one of the world's most musical cities, and its location in the heart of Europe, makes it the perfect host city for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest".

Vienna's Mayor Michael Ludwig also expresses joy over the news.

"As Vienna's mayor, I am of course glad that Vienna managed to take home the victory and that Austria can represent itself again next year. We will have a fantastic May together, I am convinced of that", he says to ESC.

The final of the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Saturday, May 16 in Wiener Stadthalle, Austria's largest indoor arena, with semifinals earlier the same week - Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14, 2026.
